Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Recycling Sorter to join our modern facility in Carnarvon for a long-term position. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for accurately sorting various recyclable materials, ensuring quality control, and contributing to the efficient processing of waste. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a vital industry that positively impacts the environment and the community. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort and separate different types of recyclable materials (e.g., plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, metals) on a conveyor belt.
- Identify and remove contaminants or non-recyclable items from the sorting line.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate basic sorting equipment and machinery safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Assist with general site clean-up and material movement as required.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production targets and operational goals.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality control issues to supervisors promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate material identification and sorting.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 20kg safely.
- Commitment to working safely and following all instructions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a waste management or industrial sorting environment.
- Basic understanding of different recyclable materials.
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
