Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Day Shift Waitstaff to join our award-winning restaurant team on a casual basis. As a vital part of our front-of-house operations, you will be responsible for providing outstanding service to our guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, and are passionate about hospitality. You will primarily work day shifts, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a renowned dining establishment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests warmly upon arrival, managing reservations efficiently.
- Present menus, take food and beverage orders accurately, and answer questions about menu items.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to all service standards.
- Clear tables, reset dining areas, and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and resolve minor complaints with grace.
- Process payments accurately using POS systems and handle cash/card transactions.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within hospitality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- A positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as waitstaff in a restaurant or hotel setting.
- Knowledge of food and wine pairings.
- Experience with POS systems (e.g., Micros, H&L).
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and public holidays.
