Job Description
As a Climate Change Policy Analyst – Global at EY, you will be instrumental in guiding our clients through the evolving landscape of international climate policy and regulation. You will conduct in-depth analysis of global climate agreements, national policies, and regional frameworks, translating complex information into actionable insights for diverse clients across various sectors. This role involves significant research, stakeholder engagement, and contributing to the development of strategic recommendations that support sustainable business practices and drive impactful climate action on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze global climate policies, agreements (e.g., Paris Agreement), and regulatory developments from key jurisdictions.
- Conduct research on emerging climate risks, opportunities, and best practices in climate governance and disclosure.
- Develop policy briefs, reports, and presentations for clients, distilling complex policy information into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations.
- Support clients in understanding the implications of climate policy on their operations, supply chains, and investment strategies.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, and industry associations, to gather insights and contribute to policy dialogues.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of climate-related strategies and solutions for clients.
- Assist in proposal development and business development activities related to climate change services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across EY's global network.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in climate change policy analysis or related field.
- Strong understanding of international climate frameworks (e.g., UNFCCC, Paris Agreement) and national climate policies.
- Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly.
- Proficiency in data analysis and presentation tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Economics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or large consulting firms.
- Knowledge of carbon markets, climate finance, and corporate sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SASB).
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to global policy analysis.
- Project management experience.
