Job Description
Are you a motivated individual eager to kickstart your career in drafting and design? GHD is seeking a Cadet Draftsperson to join our dynamic team in Lismore. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with a passion for learning and an interest in the built environment. You will receive comprehensive training in Revit and Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, working alongside experienced professionals on a diverse range of projects. Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Revit and BIM software applications.
- Assist senior draftspersons and engineers in preparing technical drawings, plans, and documentation.
- Learn to interpret architectural, structural, and civil engineering drawings and specifications.
- Contribute to maintaining drawing registers and document control systems.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements and design intent.
- Perform general administrative tasks supporting the drafting department.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness and aptitude to learn new software and technical concepts.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite).
- A keen interest in drafting, design, and the construction industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a relevant VET qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering – Technical) or currently enrolled.
- Some exposure to CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) through coursework or personal interest.
- An understanding of basic geometry and spatial reasoning.
