Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Developer to join our Consumer Electronics division in Kooringal, Wagga Wagga. In this role, you will be instrumental in the entire product development lifecycle, from concept generation and market research to design, prototyping, testing, and final launch. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, supply chain, and sales to bring innovative and high-quality consumer electronics products to market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product development, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating user-centric solutions that align with Samsung’s brand vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the research and analysis of market trends, consumer needs, and competitive landscapes to identify new product opportunities.
- Develop detailed product specifications, features, and user stories based on market insights and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate concepts into tangible product designs and prototypes.
- Manage the product development timeline, ensuring all milestones are met and potential risks are mitigated.
- Coordinate product testing, gather feedback, and iterate on designs to optimize performance and user experience.
- Work with supply chain teams to source components and ensure manufacturing feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare comprehensive product documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and marketing collateral.
- Support product launch activities, including training sales teams and engaging with marketing for promotional strategies.
- Monitor post-launch product performance, identify areas for improvement, and manage product lifecycle enhancements.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development within the consumer electronics industry.
- Proven ability to manage products through their entire lifecycle, from concept to launch.
- Strong understanding of product design principles, manufacturing processes, and quality control.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in market research and data analysis tools.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Marketing, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with CAD software or other design tools.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and bring disruptive products to market.
- Knowledge of Australian consumer electronics market regulations and standards.
