Job Description

We are seeking a highly talented and detail-oriented WFH Script Editor to join our dynamic content team. This is a 100% remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere in St Kilda, Victoria, and contribute to groundbreaking media and film projects. As a Script Editor, you will be instrumental in shaping compelling narratives, ensuring scripts are polished, engaging, and align with our creative vision and strategic objectives. You will work closely with writers, producers, and directors, providing constructive feedback and contributing to the overall quality and success of our productions. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of storytelling mechanics, and a passion for the media and film industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive script analysis and constructive feedback on story, character development, dialogue, structure, and pacing.
  • Collaborate with writers to develop and refine scripts from initial concept to final draft, ensuring creative vision is maintained.
  • Identify and resolve script issues, ensuring narrative consistency, logical flow, and adherence to production guidelines.
  • Conduct research to verify factual accuracy and cultural authenticity within scripts.
  • Participate in creative meetings, offering insights and contributing to brainstorming sessions for new projects.
  • Manage multiple script development projects simultaneously, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, storytelling techniques, and audience preferences to enhance script quality.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Script Editor or similar role in the media and film industry.
  • Exceptional understanding of dramatic structure, character arcs, and narrative development.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear, actionable feedback.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in screenwriting software (e.g., Final Draft, Celtx).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
  • A deep passion for film, television, and compelling storytelling.

  • Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Creative Writing, English Literature, or a related field.
  • Experience working on high-budget or critically acclaimed productions.
