Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Waste Sorters to join our team at our state-of-the-art recycling facility in Rockhampton. This is an ongoing full-time position offering stable employment within a clean, modern, and safety-focused environment. You will play a crucial role in separating and sorting various recyclable materials, contributing directly to our environmental goals and ensuring valuable resources are recovered.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and manually sort various recyclable materials (e.g., plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, metals) from a conveyor belt.
- Ensure materials are sorted according to quality standards and placed into designated bins or areas.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workstation, adhering to all site cleanliness protocols.
- Operate basic sorting equipment as required, following training and safety guidelines.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with general plant clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting.
- Good physical stamina, capable of standing, lifting, and bending for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a waste management or recycling facility.
- Familiarity with different types of recyclable materials.
- Forklift license (LF) is an advantage but not essential.
