Job Description

Are you passionate about animals and eager to start a rewarding career in veterinary care? Greencross Vets Hervey Bay is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Vet Clinic Assistant to join our team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with no prior experience who is keen to learn the fundamentals of animal care in a professional clinic setting. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians and nurses, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the well-being of our beloved animal patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary nurses with daily tasks and procedures.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely for examinations and treatments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of examination rooms, kennels, and surgical areas.
  • Sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Provide comfort and care for hospitalized animals, including feeding and walking.
  • Assist with client communication, including answering phones and scheduling appointments.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
  • Observe and learn various veterinary procedures and protocols.
