Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and physically fit Turf Farm Hand to join our dynamic team in Innisfail. This active role involves a variety of tasks crucial to the cultivation, harvesting, and distribution of our high-quality turf products. You will be an integral part of our operations, contributing to the success of our farm through hands-on work and attention to detail. This is an ongoing position with regular shifts, offering stability and the opportunity to grow within the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general farm duties including irrigation, fertilizing, and pest control.
- Operate various farm machinery and equipment such as tractors, mowers, and forklifts (training provided where necessary).
- Assist with turf harvesting and preparation for delivery.
- Conduct quality checks on turf products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Participate in site maintenance, including fencing, grounds keeping, and equipment cleaning.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices or willingness to learn.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in farm work, horticulture, or a similar outdoor physical role.
- Experience operating farm machinery (e.g., tractors, forklifts).
- Current First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of turf varieties and cultivation techniques.
