Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting entry point into the civil construction industry with comprehensive paid training? Fulton Hogan is seeking enthusiastic and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as Traffic Controllers in Ipswich, QLD. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety of our crews, the public, and managing traffic flow around our active project sites. We offer full paid training, competitive hourly rates, and significantly higher rates for weekend work. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently control traffic around construction sites using Stop/Slow bats, signage, and other equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with construction crews, site management, and the public.
  • Set up and pack down traffic management plans according to regulatory guidelines and site requirements.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness regarding site hazards and changing conditions.
  • Adhere strictly to all WHS policies and procedures.
  • Provide clear and courteous directions to motorists and pedestrians.
  • Report any incidents, hazards, or concerns to site management promptly.

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and lift equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Australian Driver's License (essential for site access and transport of equipment).
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card – or willingness to obtain one during training).
  • Basic understanding of road safety rules.
