Job Description
Are you a passionate and enthusiastic student eager to kickstart your career in the dynamic world of hospitality? Novotel Sydney Campbelltown is seeking a dedicated Student Hospitality Intern with a keen interest in Front Office operations. This immersive internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a bustling hotel environment, working alongside experienced professionals. You will learn the foundational aspects of guest service, reservation management, and front desk operations, contributing directly to our guests’ memorable stays.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Manage incoming calls and reservations, updating guest information accurately in the hotel's system.
- Learn to operate the property management system (PMS) and handle basic financial transactions.
- Support the Front Office team in daily administrative tasks, including mail distribution and report generation.
- Familiarize yourself with local attractions and hotel amenities to provide accurate information to guests.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold Novotel's service standards at all times.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Hospitality, Tourism, or related diploma/degree program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for guest service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience (even non-hospitality related).
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera).
- Ability to communicate in a second language (e.g., Mandarin, Arabic, Hindi).
