Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Street Cleaning Hand to join our dedicated team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of Perth’s central business district and surrounding public areas. This essential role involves manual cleaning tasks to ensure our streets, footpaths, and public spaces are kept to the highest standards, enhancing the experience for everyone who lives, works, or visits our beautiful city. Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual sweeping and litter collection in designated areas, including streets, footpaths, parks, and public squares.
- Empty public litter bins and manage waste, ensuring proper disposal and recycling where applicable.
- Operate hand-held cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Remove graffiti and unauthorized posters or flyers from public infrastructure.
- Report any damage, hazards, or maintenance issues observed in public spaces.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily cleaning targets and maintain area standards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Engage courteously with the public when inquiries are made regarding cleaning activities.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing/walking outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar outdoor cleaning or maintenance role.
- Current C-Class (car) driver's license.
- Knowledge of local Perth street layouts and public areas.
