Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Speech Writer to join our dynamic corporate communications team in Belconnen, ACT. This pivotal role involves crafting compelling and impactful speeches, presentations, and key messages for senior leaders across our corporate divisions and for our public sector clients, including government officials and political figures. The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional command of language, a deep understanding of corporate strategy, and acute political acumen. You will translate complex ideas into clear, persuasive narratives that resonate with diverse audiences, influencing opinion and driving engagement in both corporate and political landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, write, and edit speeches, talking points, presentations, and policy briefs for senior executives and political leaders.
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, leadership, and external stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and strategic alignment.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of corporate objectives, industry trends, and the political landscape.
- Tailor messaging to various audiences, ensuring tone, style, and content are appropriate for each context.
- Provide strategic advice on messaging, presentation delivery, and communication opportunities.
- Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously, adhering to strict deadlines and confidentiality requirements.
- Conduct thorough fact-checking and proofreading to ensure error-free, high-quality deliverables.
- Contribute to broader communication strategies and initiatives as required.
