Job Description

Are you eager to kickstart a career in the electrical trade but have no prior experience? UGL is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Sparkie’s Helpers. This entry-level role is perfect for someone looking for hands-on experience, a supportive learning environment, and a clear pathway into the construction and electrical industry. You will work alongside experienced electricians, providing essential support on various construction projects in the Newcastle area. We value dedication and a willingness to learn above all else, offering comprehensive on-the-job training to help you develop valuable skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems.
  • Safely carry tools, equipment, and materials to and from work areas.
  • Prepare work sites by cleaning, organizing, and ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Perform basic tasks such as cutting, bending, and stripping wires under supervision.
  • Help with the installation of conduits, wiring, and fixtures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies diligently.
  • Learn and apply new electrical concepts and techniques as instructed by senior electricians.

Required Skills

  • No prior electrical experience required – full training provided!
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction Induction Card (White Card) – mandatory for site entry.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
  • Completed or enrolled in a pre-vocational electrical course (advantageous but not required).
