Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Payroll Data Specialist to join our dynamic team in Gladstone. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of payroll data for our large employee base. You will work with complex payroll systems, analyze data, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll data accurately and efficiently for a large employee population.
  • Verify and audit payroll inputs, including timesheets, leave requests, and employee changes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and internal company policies.
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the payroll system.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W2 preparation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements related to payroll operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role in a large organization.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using large-scale payroll software (e.g., SAP, Workday, ADP).
  • Excellent data entry and data management skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Certification from the Australian Payroll Association (APA) or equivalent.
  • Experience with HRIS systems integration with payroll.
  • Familiarity with Australian industrial awards and enterprise agreements.
