Job Description
Are you a hardworking and reliable individual seeking a challenging role in the heavy industrial sector? Boral is looking for dedicated Quarry Labourers to join our dynamic team in Geelong, Victoria. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading construction materials company, offering a competitive high hourly rate for your commitment and effort. As a Quarry Labourer, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our quarry site, assisting with various tasks to ensure efficient and safe production.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation of fixed and mobile plant equipment under supervision.
- Perform general labouring duties including site clean-up, material handling, and basic maintenance.
- Conduct pre-start checks and routine inspections of equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support the production team in loading, crushing, and screening operations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of heavy industrial environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a quarry, mining, construction, or heavy industrial environment.
- Forklift license (LF) or other relevant machinery tickets.
- Heavy Rigid (HR) truck licence.
- First Aid certification.
