Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to start a career with a global leader? Rentokil Initial is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Pest Control Assistant to join our team in Dandenong. This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals with no prior experience in pest control, as full, comprehensive training will be provided. You will work alongside experienced technicians, learning the ropes of pest management, customer service, and safe operational procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior pest control technicians in performing routine pest inspections and treatments at various commercial and residential sites.
- Learn and apply safe and effective pest control techniques and product application.
- Prepare and maintain equipment, vehicles, and treatment materials.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, including pest activity, treatments applied, and customer observations.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates and answering basic questions under supervision.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and relevant Australian regulations.
- Complete all assigned training modules and certifications in a timely manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent Rentokil Initial professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Willingness to learn and a strong desire to develop a career in pest control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy for record keeping.
- Physical fitness to perform duties such as lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
- Valid Australian Driver's License (manual transmission preferred).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or field-based role (e.g., landscaping, delivery, trades assistant).
- Basic knowledge of local pest types and their habitats (not mandatory, training provided).
