Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-time Gardener to join our team in Gympie, Queensland. This role involves maintaining the grounds and gardens of various properties, ensuring they are presented to the highest standards. You will be responsible for a range of outdoor tasks, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and health of diverse landscapes. This is a hands-on, day-work position perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in their gardening skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general garden maintenance, including mowing, edging, weeding, and pruning.
- Planting new trees, shrubs, flowers, and groundcovers as required.
- Irrigating gardens and checking irrigation systems for functionality.
- Applying fertilisers and pest control treatments safely and effectively.
- Maintaining garden tools and equipment in good working order.
- Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of all garden areas.
- Reporting any significant issues or damage to supervisor.
- Adhering to safety guidelines and environmental policies at all times.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of gardening techniques and plant care.
- Ability to operate garden machinery such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar gardening or landscaping role (6+ months).
- Horticulture certificate or relevant vocational training.
- Current Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
- First Aid Certificate.
