Job Description
Join HOTA as a Museum Guide Assistant in a serene and enriching environment. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about arts and culture, eager to provide exceptional visitor experiences within our gallery spaces. You will play a crucial role in ensuring visitors have a quiet, respectful, and informative journey through our collections and exhibitions. We are looking for someone with a gentle demeanor, excellent listening skills, and a genuine interest in helping others discover the stories behind our art. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for those starting their career in the cultural sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and orient visitors to gallery spaces, ensuring a calm and inviting atmosphere.
- Provide general information about exhibitions, artists, and the HOTA precinct in a clear and respectful manner.
- Monitor gallery flow and assist visitors with navigation, ensuring a positive experience for all.
- Respond to visitor inquiries and provide assistance, maintaining a quiet and helpful presence.
- Support the senior guide team with logistical tasks and visitor management.
- Adhere to gallery policies and procedures, particularly regarding visitor conduct and art preservation.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks as required to support gallery operations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
