Job Description
Chubb Fire & Security is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Alarm Technician for ongoing service work in Adelaide and surrounding areas. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the routine inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of fire alarm and detection systems. Your expertise will ensure the compliance and optimal performance of our clients’ fire safety infrastructure, providing peace of mind and upholding the highest safety standards. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring a strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine service, maintenance, testing, and inspection of various fire alarm and detection systems (e.g., conventional, addressable, EWIS).
- Diagnose and rectify faults in fire alarm systems promptly and efficiently.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance with Australian Standards.
- Provide accurate and detailed service reports and documentation for all work performed.
- Maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and service delivery.
- Adhere to all WHS policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Manage vehicle stock and tools effectively.
- Participate in an on-call roster as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
- Current Electrician's License (A-Class) or equivalent relevant trade qualification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Solid understanding of AS1670, AS1851, and other relevant Australian Standards.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Systems Electrician).
- Experience with a variety of fire alarm system brands (e.g., Notifier, Tyco, Siemens, Ampac).
- Working knowledge of security systems (CCTV, access control) is a plus.
- First Aid certification.
- OHS White Card.
