Job Description
Join Coates Hire as a Marquee Rigger Helper in Sandy Bay, Hobart! This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the successful setup and dismantling of marquees and event structures. If you’re looking for a physically active role with weekly pay and the chance to learn new skills within a supportive team environment, this is the job for you. No prior experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced riggers with the safe and efficient erection and dismantling of various marquee structures.
- Handle and transport marquee components, including poles, canvas, flooring, and accessories.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organised work area on site.
- Load and unload equipment from trucks and trailers.
- Perform general labour duties as required to support event setup and pack down.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Report any equipment damage or safety concerns to the team leader promptly.
Required Skills
- High level of physical fitness and stamina, capable of lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Australian driver's license (manual preferred).
- Construction Induction White Card (or willingness to obtain one prior to employment).
- Previous experience in a manual labour, construction, or event setup role.
- First Aid certification (desirable).
