Job Description
Novotel Geelong is seeking a reliable and diligent Laundry Sorter to join our housekeeping team on a part-time basis. This role is essential in ensuring our hotel always has a fresh supply of linens, towels, and uniforms, contributing directly to guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for sorting, preparing, and maintaining laundry items, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency in our laundry operations. This is a routine, hands-on role perfect for someone who takes pride in a job well done and enjoys working independently within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort soiled linens, towels, and uniforms according to type, color, and fabric.
- Load and unload commercial washing machines and dryers efficiently.
- Inspect laundered items for stains or damage and report as necessary.
- Fold, iron, and stack clean laundry neatly.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Assist with inventory counts of linen supplies as required.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding laundry operations and guest property.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry or similar physical role is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of different fabric types and care instructions.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
