Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Provide planned and unplanned respite for primary caregivers, offering them a much-needed break.
- Engage clients in social activities, hobbies, and conversation to promote well-being and reduce isolation.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, respecting their dignity and privacy.
- Provide medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Assist with light household duties to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition or concerns to the care coordinator.
- Adhere to individual care plans and maintain a person-centred approach at all times.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Valid Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
- Ability to pass a National Police Check and relevant pre-employment checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability, or Home and Community Care).
- Previous experience in a caregiving, respite, or similar support role.
- Familiarity with various health conditions and age-related challenges.
- Experience in culturally sensitive care delivery.
