Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Poultry Hatcher Assistant to join our team in a rural setting in Speke, Liverpool. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and looking to start a career in the agricultural sector. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary. You will play a crucial role in the hatching process, ensuring the healthy development and care of our chicks from egg to their first few days of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the careful handling and setting of eggs into incubators.
- Monitor incubation conditions including temperature, humidity, and ventilation.
- Perform regular checks on eggs and newly hatched chicks, identifying and reporting any abnormalities.
- Assist with the gentle transfer of hatched chicks to brooder units.
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of all hatching equipment, incubators, and hatcher rooms.
- Follow all biosecurity protocols strictly to maintain a healthy environment.
- Record data accurately related to hatch rates, chick health, and inventory.
- Support senior staff in all aspects of the hatching operation as required.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
