Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as an Excavator Spotter in Geraldton. This is an entry-level opportunity with full training provided, making it perfect for those looking to start a career in the mining and civil construction industry. As an Excavator Spotter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation of heavy machinery, particularly excavators, by providing clear communication and guidance to operators. Key Responsibilities
- Act as a primary visual and auditory guide for excavator operators, especially in areas with limited visibility or complex maneuvers.
- Maintain constant radio contact with operators, providing clear and concise instructions regarding clearance, ground conditions, and proximity to other personnel or equipment.
- Monitor the immediate work area for potential hazards, including ground instability, overhead obstacles, and unauthorized personnel.
- Implement and adhere to all site-specific safety procedures and company policies.
- Participate in pre-start meetings and toolbox talks, contributing to a proactive safety culture.
- Assist with site clean-up and general labour duties as required.
- Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses promptly to supervision.
- Undergo and successfully complete all required safety and operational training.
- Work effectively as part of a larger construction or mining team.
