Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Metal Recycler to join our heavy industrial operations in Eagle Farm. This role is crucial to our processing workflow, involving the sorting, cutting, and handling of various scrap metals in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. If you’re a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic, keen attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities
- Sort and grade various types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals according to company standards.
- Operate basic cutting tools, shears, and other processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of materials using appropriate equipment (training provided for machinery if necessary).
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all housekeeping policies.
- Perform visual inspections of materials for quality and safety compliance.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from our Eagle Farm facility.
- Basic understanding of measurements and material identification (training can be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or recycling environment.
- Experience operating forklifts, excavators, or other heavy machinery (valid licenses a plus).
- First Aid certification.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
