Job Description
Are you passionate about early childhood education and eager to gain invaluable practical experience? Goodstart Early Learning Lismore is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Early Childhood Interns to join our vibrant team. This internship offers a fantastic opportunity to complete your required placement hours, work alongside experienced educators, and make a real difference in the lives of young children. You will be immersed in a supportive and collaborative environment, learning best practices in early childhood care and education, and developing the skills necessary for a successful career in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead educators in planning and implementing engaging educational programs for children aged 0-5 years.
- Support children's learning and development through play-based activities, storytelling, and creative expression.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children.
- Observe and document children's progress, contributing to their learning portfolios.
- Engage positively with children, families, and team members, fostering strong relationships.
- Participate in daily routines, including meal times, rest periods, and outdoor play.
- Adhere to Goodstart Early Learning policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education and Care qualification (Certificate III, Diploma, or Bachelor).
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Punctual, reliable, and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (volunteer or paid) in an early childhood setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS).
