Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting summer job where you can soak up the sun, be part of a fantastic team, and meet people from all over the world? Gold Coast Dive Adventures is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Dive Boat Helpers for the upcoming summer season. This role is perfect for someone who loves the ocean, enjoys social interaction, and is eager to support our dive operations. You’ll be assisting our experienced crew in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all passengers, from preparing equipment to helping maintain the boat. No prior diving experience is required – just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dive instructors and crew with loading and unloading dive and snorkel gear
- Help passengers with donning and doffing equipment, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the boat throughout trips
- Provide excellent customer service, answering passenger questions and enhancing their experience
- Assist with basic boat maintenance tasks as directed by the captain or crew leader
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed and assist in emergency procedures if needed
- Support the crew in pre-trip briefings and post-trip debriefings
Required Skills
- Strong swimming ability and comfortable in water environments
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude with a strong work ethic
- Physical fitness to lift and carry dive equipment (up to 20kg)
- Reliability and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in tourism or hospitality
- Basic knowledge of marine environments and local Gold Coast attractions
- PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent (not mandatory, but a bonus)
