Job Description
Join the dedicated team at Woolworths’ state-of-the-art cold storage facility in Tweed Heads as a Cold Store Picker. This crucial role involves accurately and efficiently picking customer orders in a chilled environment, ensuring the freshness and quality of products before they reach our stores. You’ll be working in a fast-paced setting where precision and teamwork are paramount. We offer premium chilled rates, reflecting the specialized nature of working in a temperature-controlled environment and the value we place on our team members who ensure our fresh produce and chilled goods are perfectly handled.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack chilled and frozen products according to order specifications.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment safely and efficiently (training provided where necessary).
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment within the cold store.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, particularly those related to cold environments.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as required.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily picking targets and ensure timely dispatch of goods.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively and comfortably in a cold storage environment (temperatures typically between 0-5°C, or below for freezer sections).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely and repeatedly.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading order sheets.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cold storage environment.
- Experience operating powered pallet jacks or forklifts (valid license a bonus).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
