Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented 3D Print Technician to join our innovative team in Broome, Western Australia. This role is crucial for the successful operation and maintenance of our additive manufacturing systems. You will be responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining state-of-the-art metal 3D printers, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor large-scale metal 3D printing systems (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing).
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of 3D printing equipment.
- Prepare raw materials (wire spools) and load them into printing systems.
- Conduct pre-print checks, including verifying print parameters and material availability.
- Monitor print processes for anomalies and troubleshoot minor issues during operation.
- Perform post-processing tasks such as part removal, basic cleaning, and initial inspection.
- Document print jobs, material usage, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Adhere to strict quality control standards and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize print processes and resolve technical challenges.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience with operating machinery or complex technical equipment.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to safety protocols and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with 3D printing technology, especially metal additive manufacturing (WAAM).
- Vocational training or a certificate in mechanical engineering, welding, or a related discipline.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
