Job Description
Join Elders Rural Services as an Irrigation Labourer and embark on a rewarding journey to learn and contribute to modern farm systems. This ongoing full-time position in Tweed Heads offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals eager to work outdoors, develop practical skills in irrigation management, and become a vital part of our agricultural operations. No prior experience is required – we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual ready to learn from the ground up and grow within our supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, flood).
- Operate and maintain basic farm machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform general farm labour duties as required, including land preparation, planting support, and harvesting assistance.
- Learn to monitor irrigation schedules and water usage, adjusting as necessary under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
- Proactively seek to understand and improve farm irrigation practices.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an outdoor labouring role or general farm work (even casual).
- A valid Australian Driver's License.
- Basic understanding of tools and machinery.
