Job Description
Ventia is seeking a reliable and motivated General Hand to join our team, providing essential maintenance services to schools within the Karratha area. This part-time position involves working a day roster, contributing to the upkeep and presentation of school grounds and facilities. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, from minor repairs and cleaning to grounds maintenance, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for consistent part-time work in a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing, weeding, pruning, and rubbish removal.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks within school buildings (e.g., changing lightbulbs, fixing door handles, basic painting touch-ups).
- Assist with general cleaning duties in outdoor areas and common spaces as required.
- Report any significant maintenance issues or hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and company policies.
- Operate and maintain basic hand tools and light machinery safely and efficiently.
- Support tradespeople and other maintenance staff as needed.
- Adhere to the school's operational guidelines and child safety protocols.
