Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and analytical individual to join our team as a Public Service Transport – Infrastructure Focus professional. This role will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of crucial public transport infrastructure projects in the Victoria region. You will play a vital part in enhancing connectivity, efficiency, and sustainability of our public transport networks. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing technical expertise and contributing to all phases of the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies to implementation and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis and evaluation of existing public transport infrastructure assets and identify areas for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of infrastructure project proposals, including scope definition, technical specifications, and preliminary designs.
- Support project managers in the coordination with various stakeholders, including government bodies, local councils, and public transport operators.
- Participate in site investigations, data collection, and surveys related to transport infrastructure projects.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and environmental teams to integrate solutions.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in infrastructure, transport, or civil engineering projects.
- Understanding of public transport systems and infrastructure components (rail, road, bus networks).
- Proficiency in GIS software and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Transport Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with Australian transport standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with project management principles and software (e.g., MS Project).
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement for public sector projects.
- Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., Engineers Australia).
