Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Road Line Marker to join our dedicated team for night work in Port Augusta, South Australia. This critical role involves applying various pavement markings, including linework, symbols, and legends, using specialized equipment. You will be instrumental in enhancing road safety and traffic flow during non-peak hours, ensuring minimal disruption to the public. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of road marking standards, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a nocturnal environment. Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain road marking equipment, including line marking machines, thermoplastic applicators, and paint sprayers.
• Apply various types of pavement markings (paint, thermoplastic, cold-applied plastics) accurately and efficiently according to specifications and Australian standards.
• Set up and manage traffic control measures around work sites to ensure the safety of personnel and the public.
• Perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Monitor material usage and ensure proper stock levels for assigned tasks.
• Adhere strictly to all WHS policies and procedures, including hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Complete necessary documentation, including job sheets, safety reports, and material usage logs.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project completion on time and to standard.
• Work predominantly during night shifts as required by project schedules.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Road Line Marker, demonstrating proficiency in various marking techniques.
• Ability to operate and maintain specialized road marking machinery.
• Current and valid Australian Driver's License (HR/HC class highly regarded).
• Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic management principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in linework.
• Ability to work effectively and safely during night shifts.
• Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and lift heavy materials.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's license.
• Traffic Management Implementer (TMI) or Traffic Controller (TC) qualifications.
• First Aid certification.
• Experience with computerised line marking systems.
• Relevant trade qualification or certification in road construction/maintenance.
