Job Description
Are you passionate about design and eager to kick-start your career in the engineering and construction industry? GHD is seeking a motivated Cadet Draftsperson to join our dynamic team in Cairns. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to learn and grow within a supportive environment. You will receive comprehensive training in industry-leading software such as Revit and gain hands-on experience in Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes, contributing to exciting projects across various sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior draftspersons and engineers with various drafting tasks.
- Learn and apply Revit software for creating detailed technical drawings and models.
- Support the implementation of BIM methodologies on projects.
- Prepare and revise drawings, schematics, and models under supervision.
- Maintain accurate documentation and project files.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure design intent and quality standards are met.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance drafting and BIM skills.
Required Skills
- Strong desire to learn drafting principles and software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a supervised environment.
- Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Certificate, Diploma, or relevant vocational course in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Prior exposure to CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is a bonus, but not essential.
- An understanding of basic engineering or architectural concepts.
