Job Description

Join GHD as a Landscape Architecture Intern in Traralgon East, Victoria, and kickstart your career in civil space planning. You will gain hands-on experience in all phases of project development, from conceptual design to documentation and site analysis. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior landscape architects and project managers in preparing design documentation, plans, and reports.
  • Conduct site analyses, research, and data collection to inform project development.
  • Utilize design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) to create visualisations and technical drawings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, environmental scientists, and urban planners.
  • Participate in client meetings and project workshops, contributing ideas and taking notes.
  • Support the preparation of presentations and proposals for various projects.
  • Adhere to project timelines and contribute to efficient workflow management.
  • Learn and apply relevant industry standards, codes, and environmental regulations.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and/or GIS tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for sustainable design and civil space planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous volunteer or paid work experience in a design, engineering, or environmental consulting setting.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Understanding of local planning regulations and environmental guidelines in Victoria.
