Job Description

Are you passionate about shaping the future of urban mobility and smart cities? GHD is seeking an enthusiastic Transport Planning Intern to join our dynamic team in Mandurah, Western Australia. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior transport planners and engineers with data collection, analysis, and interpretation for various transport projects.
  • Support the development of transport models, traffic impact assessments, and feasibility studies.
  • Contribute to research on emerging smart city technologies and their application in transport planning.
  • Prepare sections of reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support GIS mapping and spatial analysis for transport network planning.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on integrated urban development projects.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of transport planning principles or urban development concepts.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to innovative projects.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Transport Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Experience with transport modeling software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA, Aimsun) is a plus but not required.
  • Previous academic project work related to smart cities or sustainable transport.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
