Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Tertiary Admissions Clerk to join our team at the Mackay campus. This crucial role supports the efficient processing of student applications, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for prospective students transitioning into higher education. You will be an integral part of our admissions department, handling inquiries, managing documentation, and contributing to the overall success of our enrolment processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of student applications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to university policies and procedures.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students, parents, and educational agents via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Maintain and update student records in the university's admissions system.
  • Verify the completeness and validity of application documents, including academic transcripts and supporting materials.
  • Assist in the coordination of admission events and information sessions.
  • Collaborate with academic faculties and other university departments to resolve application-related issues.
  • Prepare and distribute admission offer letters and rejection notices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of admissions processes and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant privacy legislation and university data handling policies.

Required Skills

  • Proven administrative or data entry experience, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience in a university administrative environment.
