We are seeking dedicated and reliable individuals for a Day Shift Courier – Casual Work position based in Braddon, ACT. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for flexible hours, meaningful work, and a chance to be part of a national service. As a Day Shift Courier, you will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of parcels and mail to our valued customers. You will navigate established routes, interact professionally with the public, and contribute to the smooth operation of our delivery network. This casual role offers flexibility, allowing you to balance work with other commitments while gaining valuable experience with a leading Australian organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform efficient and safe delivery of parcels, letters, and other mail items on assigned routes.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles with attention to detail and safety protocols.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while driving.
- Provide excellent customer service, including friendly interactions and accurate delivery information.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections, using handheld devices or manual logs.
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or delivery issues promptly to supervisors.
- Ensure the security of mail and parcels at all times.
Required Skills
- Current and valid Australian Driver's License (Car License minimum).
- Proven safe driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry parcels up to 20kg repeatedly throughout the day.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Canberra, particularly the northern suburbs.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a courier, delivery, or logistics role.
- Familiarity with handheld scanning devices or delivery management systems.
- Local knowledge of the Braddon and surrounding areas.
