Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Fire Alarm Electrician to join our dynamic team in Brisbane. This role involves comprehensive service, maintenance, and installation of various fire detection and alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. You will be provided with a fully stocked company van, uniform, and all necessary tools to perform your duties efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with Australian Standards (AS 1851, AS 1670).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in fire detection and alarm systems, including control panels, smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, and EWIS.
- Install, commission, and upgrade fire alarm systems and associated components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and compliance.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including service reports, fault logs, and compliance forms accurately and promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service and clear communication with clients regarding work performed and any recommendations.
- Adhere to all WHS (Work Health and Safety) policies and procedures.
- Participate in an on-call roster for emergency service (where applicable).
Required Skills
- Current A-Grade Electrician's Licence (QLD or equivalent, with ability to obtain QLD licence).
- Current Open Cablers Registration (or ability to obtain).
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in the fire alarm industry.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards related to fire detection and alarm systems (AS 1670, AS 1851).
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent).
- Experience with various fire alarm brands (e.g., Notifier, Ampac, Pertronic, Simplex).
- Experience with EWIS (Emergency Warning and Intercommunication Systems).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Working at Heights and EWP (Elevated Work Platform) tickets.
