Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Public Health Admin to join our Community Medical Center team. This role is crucial in supporting the daily operations of our public health initiatives, ensuring efficient service delivery, and maintaining vital records. The successful candidate will play a key role in the administrative functions that underpin our community health programs, working closely with clinical and public health professionals to support a healthier Toowoomba. You will be an integral part of a compassionate team focused on improving the well-being of our residents through effective administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate patient and program records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Coordinate scheduling for public health clinics, appointments, and community outreach events.
- Prepare and process administrative documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for public inquiries, directing them to appropriate services or personnel.
- Assist with inventory management of office supplies and public health educational materials.
- Support the preparation of public health campaigns and educational workshops.
- Collaborate with public health nurses, doctors, and other staff to ensure smooth administrative workflows.
- Handle billing and invoicing processes, and maintain financial records where required.
- Ensure compliance with health service policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven administrative or office support experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience with medical record systems (e.g., electronic health records).
- Understanding of public health principles and community health services.
- Prior experience working within a Queensland Health or similar public sector environment.
