Job Description
Join SafeWork NSW as a Workplace Safety Assistant and play a crucial role in supporting our mission to promote and maintain safe workplaces across New South Wales. Based in our Gosford office, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to our WHS teams, assisting with documentation, data management, and stakeholder communication. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to public safety initiatives within a dedicated government body.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to WHS inspectors and advisory staff.
- Manage and organise WHS documentation, reports, and records.
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of WHS management systems.
- Respond to general inquiries from businesses and the public regarding WHS matters.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes as required.
- Support the development and distribution of WHS information and resources.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
- Assist in the preparation of WHS campaigns and educational materials.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative or support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience working within a government agency or regulatory environment.
- Familiarity with WHS legislation and frameworks in NSW.
