Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant WFH Network Monitor to join our remote team, specifically for night shifts. This is a critical role responsible for the continuous surveillance of Telstra’s vast network infrastructure, ensuring its stability and performance around the clock. You will play a vital role in identifying, triaging, and escalating network incidents to maintain seamless service delivery for our customers. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home in Port Augusta while contributing to a national service. You must be comfortable working independently during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform 24/7 real-time monitoring of network performance and system health using various tools and dashboards.
- Identify and respond promptly to network alerts, anomalies, and potential security threats.
- Triage incoming incidents, conducting initial analysis and basic troubleshooting to determine the root cause.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or relevant support teams following established protocols.
- Accurately document all incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to provide status updates and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring processes and tools.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during night shifts.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, firewalls).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems and ability to quickly learn new software.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet home office setup.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a network operations center (NOC) or similar monitoring role.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
- IT-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA).
- Experience with incident management systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Prior experience working night shifts or in a remote capacity.
