Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kitchen Steward to join our culinary team for part-time evening shifts. This ongoing role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of our bustling kitchen environments. As a Kitchen Steward, you will be responsible for washing dishes, pots, and pans, assisting with general kitchen clean-up, and ensuring all equipment is properly stored and sanitized. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing machines and ensure all dishes, cutlery, and glassware are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Manually wash pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils, ensuring high standards of cleanliness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen floors, and storage areas.
- Assist in the proper storage and rotation of kitchen equipment and supplies.
- Remove trash and recycling from the kitchen and ensure bins are clean.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic tasks as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues or broken equipment to the kitchen management.
- Ensure a safe and hazard-free work environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a stewarding or kitchen helper role is a plus, but not required.
