Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated WFH CAD Drafter to join our dynamic team, focusing on critical projects within the construction industry. This is a 100% remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to major Australian infrastructure and building initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and project specifications. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to translate concepts into precise visual representations, playing a pivotal role in the planning and execution phases of our diverse construction portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for various construction projects, including architectural, structural, and civil components.
- Translate engineering and architectural designs into accurate and comprehensive technical drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand design requirements and integrate feedback.
- Review and revise drawings based on design changes, field conditions, and client requests.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Assist in the development of CAD standards and best practices.
- Conduct self-quality checks on all produced drawings to minimize errors and ensure precision.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software (e.g., Revit, MicroStation).
- Strong understanding of construction principles, terminology, and drawing conventions.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for remote collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate's Degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience drafting for large-scale commercial or infrastructure construction projects.
- Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) processes.
- Experience with Australian building codes and standards.
