Job Description
Are you looking for stable, ongoing work with a reputable company? JJ Richards & Sons is seeking dedicated and reliable Waste Truck Offsiders to join our team in Townsville. This is a full-time, ongoing position working on a vital council contract, ensuring the efficient collection of waste and recycling. As an Offsider, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and public health for the Townsville community. We are looking for individuals who are physically fit, possess a strong work ethic, and are committed to safety and teamwork. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the truck driver with the safe and efficient collection of waste and recycling bins.
- Operating lifting mechanisms and compaction equipment as required.
- Navigating routes safely and efficiently, ensuring timely service delivery.
- Adhering to all safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Communicating effectively with team members and the public.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment.
- Ensuring waste is collected in accordance with council guidelines.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour consistently.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in waste management or similar labour-intensive roles.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence (manual endorsement preferred).
- Knowledge of Townsville local areas/routes.
- First Aid Certificate.
