Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic culinary team for evening shifts at Hilton Darwin, serving the Palmerston area. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn, has a strong work ethic, and is looking to start or grow their career in hospitality. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting our chefs in delivering high-quality dining experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Support chefs in various tasks as required during busy evening service periods.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food supplies.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Required Skills
- Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 15kg.
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations or willingness to learn.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment (even entry-level).
- Current Food Handling Certificate.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
