Job Description
Are you passionate about animals and eager to start your career in veterinary care? Kalgoorlie Vet Clinic is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Vet Clinic Helper to join our team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with no prior experience in a clinic setting, offering comprehensive on-the-job training. You will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians and veterinary nurses, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, and providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our animal patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary nurses during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely under supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of examination rooms, kennels, and surgical areas.
- Sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Feed, water, and walk hospitalized animals according to schedules.
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes to veterinary staff.
- Assist with laundry, stocking supplies, and general clinic maintenance.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to nervous or distressed animals.
- Maintain accurate basic records and assist with front desk duties as needed.
Required Skills

- Physical ability to lift up to 20kg and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience volunteering or working with animals (e.g., shelters, pet sitting) is a plus.
