Job Description
Are you a passionate and aspiring UX/UI Designer looking to kickstart your career? Telstra is seeking a motivated UX/UI Design Intern to join our dynamic Product Development team in Joondalup. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced corporate environment, contributing to the design of innovative digital products and services. You’ll work alongside experienced designers, product managers, and engineers, learning best practices in user research, wireframing, prototyping, and user interface design. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn, contribute, and make a real impact on how millions of users interact with technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior designers in conducting user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
- Contribute to the creation of wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile applications.
- Support the design team in developing high-fidelity mockups and visual designs, ensuring brand consistency.
- Participate in design critiques and collaborative brainstorming sessions to generate creative solutions.
- Help maintain and evolve design systems and UI component libraries.
- Document design specifications and prepare assets for development teams.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies.
Required Skills
- Foundational understanding of UX/UI principles and design methodologies.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Strong portfolio showcasing personal or academic design projects (wireframes, mockups, case studies).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to take constructive feedback and iterate on designs.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with agile development processes.
- Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Experience with user research methods and tools.
- Passion for telecommunications and digital product innovation.
