Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Trenching Labourers to join our civil infrastructure team for an ongoing project in the Gungahlin region of Canberra, ACT. Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual trenching and excavation duties using hand tools (shovels, picks, etc.) as directed.
- Assist plant operators by spotting and guiding machinery safely around the worksite.
- Lay pipes, conduits, and cables in trenches according to specifications.
- Prepare and maintain work areas, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.
- Load and unload materials and equipment.
- Carry out general labouring tasks on civil construction sites.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with supervisors and colleagues.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform strenuous tasks.
- Ability to work effectively and safely in a demanding outdoor environment.
- Strong understanding and commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS) practices.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card) is highly regarded, essential before commencement.
- Previous experience in civil construction, labouring, or trenching roles.
- Current Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Basic knowledge of civil construction processes and materials.
